Nina is in her second year at the Oden Institute in UT Austin's Computational Science, Engineering, and Math (CSEM) PhD program. She has a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) where she worked as an undergraduate researcher under the mentorship of Dr. Alperen Ergür studying applications of algebraic geometry. Her research interests are physical simulation, modeling astrochemistry networks, and machine learning approaches to solving systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). ODEs are a mathematical language to describe systems of change, and Nina’s mission is to effectively and efficiently solve problems that deal with change.
