France

Nina studied abroad in Strasbourg, France for four months in the fall of 2022. Unfortunately no, Nina does not in fact speak french at all. But she does have the strange abilities to 1: Read french sentences very terribly but with great confidence, and 2: Speak loud gibberish that sound somewhat french-like.

Skills

Nina is proficient in Python, Matlab, Julia, and Surface Evolver and has experience using Github, SAS, and C++. Her first job ever was as an instructor at Mathnasium, a math tutoring center for grades k-12th. Nina values being able to communicate and present difficult technical topics in ways that are easy to understand and fun to learn.

Experience

Nina is currently working with Stella Offner doing research in modeling astrochemistry networks in Julia. She was an undergradute research assistant at UTSA where she graduated in 2023, and she also did research at a summer research experience for undergraduates at NC State in 2022 where she used Surface Evolver to model the cross section of a zebrafish notochord.
